David works in the Development Team at NPC to drive discussion, develop ideas and identify new areas for research. He has recently worked on a paper examining the challenges in scaling approaches to social problems, as well as a briefing inviting discussion on the role that the voluntary sector plays in supporting the nation’s health.
David takes a particular interest in the way that the public, private and voluntary sectors interact—from the increasing engagement of charities with public sector commissioning, to the advent of new forms of social finance.
Before joining NPC, David worked at the Institute for Government, where he undertook a large-scale data analysis project to evaluate and track the performance of 17 Whitehall departments. The project outlined recommendations for how the government might use data in a more useful and accessible way. David previously completed a Masters in International Public Policy at UCL, during which he developed a particular interest in improving public services.
